2018 Library Scholarships
Library Support or Library Technician Certificate Program Scholarship
$500 Award
All applicants must be enrolled in a Library Technology program or work in a San Diego/Imperial County Library while pursuing an AA or BA degree.
Master of Library and Information Science Candidate Scholarship
$1,500 Award
Applicants must be enrolled in a Master of Library and Information Science program while living in San Diego/Imperial County.
Applicants for either scholarship must:
- Complete the application form
- Be a member of REFORMA
- Include one letter of recommendation that specifically addresses why you are a good candidate for this scholarship
- Reside or be employed in the San Diego/Imperial County area and present proof to that effect such as a photocopy of a California driver’s license, a California ID card, or proof of employment
- Create an original essay on how you intend to use your experience, education, and skills to better serve Latinos and Spanish speaking populations in libraries. The essay should be typed, double-spaced, and no more than two pages in length
- Library Support Staff/Library Technician Program scholarship: provide proof of enrollment in a Library Technology, AA, or BA program
- Master of Library and Information Science Candidate Scholarship: provide proof of acceptance or enrollment in such a program
