ABIBAC – La Asociación de Bibliotecarios de Baja California, se visualiza como una de las principales asociaciones en su ramo a nivel nacional, que ofrece a sus miembros oportunidades de capacitación y actualización de calidad en forma permanente y crea vínculos con otros organismos en beneficio del desarrollo bibliotecario de la región.
Chicano Park Steering Committee – The CPSC is a grassroots organization comprised of individuals who volunteer their time and energy to ensure that the original stated goals of the development and expansion of Chicano Park “all the way to the bay” are never forgotten or abandoned.
REFORMA National – The National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish-Speaking
Conferences
Creando Enlaces – a free conference that brings together librarians from the US and Mexico to further their professional knowledge and exchange ideas. The conference is a meeting place for librarians with diverse experiences, from public and academic libraries, and from both sides of the border.
Scholarships
HACU Scholarship – The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to assist in defraying some of your college expenditures.
Spectrum Scholarship Program – ALA – Spectrum recruits and provides scholarships to American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino and Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander students to assist individuals interested in obtaining a graduate degree and leadership positions within the profession and our organization. Our aim is to increase the number of racially and ethnically diverse professionals working as leaders in the field of library and information science to best position libraries and institutions at the core of today’s culturally diverse communities.
Initiatives
Children in Crisis Project – REFORMA – This task force is made up of Spanish speaking and bilingual/bicultural librarians to help other library staff and community members more effectively assist the unaccompanied refugee children who are being processed. Our misson is to get books into the hands of these children, ensure that they have access to storytime materials, and to make all the recent arrivals aware of the wealth of library resources that are available to them here in the United States.
Día – Día is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children from all backgrounds. It is a daily commitment to linking children and their families to diverse books, languages and cultures.

Arte Publico Press – This is the online home of Arte Público Press, the nation’s largest and most established publisher of contemporary and recovery literature by U.S. Hispanic authors.
Bilingual Press – Bilingual Press publishes literary works, scholarship, and art books by or about U.S. Hispanics under the name Bilingual Press/Editorial Bilingüe. With almost 200 titles in our backlist, we publish books in English, Spanish, and bilingual format, although most of our books are written in English.
